Russian tenor Maxim Mironov started his career by winning the prominent international singing competition “Neue Stimmen” in Germany and today he is considered to be one of the best belcanto tenors.
Born in Tula, and a graduate of the Moscow’s Gnessin State Musical College in a class of Professor Dmitry Vdovin, he then joined the Helikon Opera Theatre of Moscow, making his operatic debut in André Gréty’s Pierre le Grand in 2002.
Since his debut, Maxim has performed in many prestigious stages across the world including; Vienna State Opera, Teatro alla Scala Milan, Opéra National and Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Teatro Real Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Staatsoper Hamburg, Semperoper Dresden. In Italy he has been regular guest at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro and he has been acclaimed also at Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, Teatro La Fenice di Venezia. In the United States, he made his debut at the Los Angeles Opera for Il turco in Italia to great acclaim and returned to America for La Cenerentola with Washington National Opera, and Orfeo ed Eurydice again at Los Angeles Opera.
Known for his exceptional Rossini roles, his repertoire include also masterpieces by Mozart, Donizetti and Bellini. He has gained incredible successes all over the world for his interpretations of Count Almaviva in l barbiere di Siviglia and Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Le Comte Ory, Lindoro in L’Italiana in Algeri (that he sang also at Stanislavsky Theatre, being awarded the National Theatre “Golden Mask”), Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Tonio in La fille du Régiment, Ernesto in Don Pasquale, Orphée in Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice.
Maxim Mironov has collaborated with many outstanding conductors as Alberto Zedda, Donato Renzetti, Bruno Campanella, Evelino Pidò, Vladmir Jurowski, Michele Mariotti, Jesus Lopez-Cobos, Gianandrea Noseda, James Conlon and Riccardo Frizza to name a few, and with such stage directors as Pier Luigi Pizzi, Jean-Luis Grinda, Toni Servillo, Daniele Abbado, Irina Brook, Christof Loy and Damiano Michieletto.
Among the many noteworthy productions he starred in, it can be mentioned Anna Bolena at Donizzetti Opera Festival in Bergamo, La Cenerentola at Opéra National de Paris, Il viaggio a Reims, L’italiana in Algeri, La gazzetta, La pietra del paragone and Il barbiere di Siviglia all at Rossini Opera Festival, Cosi fan tutte at Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Die Entführung aus dem Serail in Antwerp and in Nice, Rossini’s Otello at Opéra de Lausanne and Theatre An der Wien, Semiramide at Opéra de Bordeaux, Don Giovanni at Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Don Pasquale at Vienna State Opera and at Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, La scala di seta and La Cenerentola at Teatro alla Scala.
