Born Treviso, Monica Zanettin graduated in singing form the Conservatory Benedetto Marcello in Venice and she also got a degree in Conservation of Cultural Heritage from University Ca’ Foscari.

She has been an awarded in many important international singigng competitions, including the “Martinelli Pertile” Competition in Montagnana (first prize), “Ottavio Ziino” Competition in Rome (stage presence award and Puccini award), Progetto Lirico Italia competition in Pescara (second prize), Capri Opera Competition, Armel Opera Competition, International Contest for Opera and Poetry in Verona. She has also been a finalist at Voci Verdiane Competition in Busseto and at “Monserrat Caballé” Competition in Saragoza.

After having scored a notable personal success as Aida at Arena di Verona in 2014, she was invited back in Arena for the three following summer seasons, always to perform as Aida, a signature role that she also sang with Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, at Daegu Opera House in Korea, at La Monnaie in Brussels, at Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, at Teatro Comunale di Bologna, at New Israeli Opera Tel Aviv.

She interpreted successfully also the title role of Tosca at Liceu Barcelona, at La Monnaie Brussels, at Deutsche Oper Berlin, at Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, at Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, at Oper Leipzig and in Beijing; Amelia in Un ballo in maschera at La Monnaie in Brussels, at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari and in Angers, Nantes Rennes; Mimì in La bohème at De Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp; Desdemona in Otello at Teatro Filarmonico in Verona; Anna in Le Villi in Cagliari.

Among the many leading conductors that she has already worked with, we can mention Juraj Valčuha, Daniel Oren, Frederic Chaslin, Andrea Battistoni, Daniele Rustioni, Alain Altinoglu.

Her concert repertoire includes Vivaldi’s Magnificat di Vivaldi, Mozart’s Exultate Jubilate, Beethoven’s IX Symphony, that she sang at Thèatre Massenet in Saint Etienne.
