Laura Ulloa in October 2021 was admitted to the Accademia per Cantanti Lirici of Teatro San Carlo in Naples, where she began to study under the guidance of Mariella Devia and which has given her the opportunity to perform at Teatro San Carlo, also as Musetta in La bohème. In January 2024 she had her debut in the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor at the New Israeli Theatre in Tel Aviv.

Cuban from Havana, she graduated from the Amedeo Roldán Conservatory in her hometown, then she moved to Italy and graduated in singing from the J. Tomadini Conservatory in Udine.

Awarded at several international singing competitions such as Grand Prix Raúl Camayd (Cuba) in 2014, the Interpretation Prize at the Oper Oder Spree Competition (Germany) in 2015, Third Prize in the “Gaetano Zinetti” International Competition (Italy) in 2016, First Prize at the “Beniamino Gavasso” Competition in Pordenone (Italy) in 2018 and the National Arts Prize 2020 in the opera singing section, awarded by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research.

Since graduating in Cuba, she began her career as a soloist at the National Opera Theatre of Cuba, where she performed in Cavalleria Rusticana (Lola), Mozart’s Requiem, and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater. She made her debut as a leading role in 2015 in Cuban most famous Zarzuela, Cecilia Valdés, and later in Roberto Valera’s contemporary opera Cubanacán: a revolution of forms.

In 2017 she made her debut in Italy with the role of Eleonora in Salieri’s Prima la musica e poi le parole, in 2018 she sang the title role in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, in 2019 Donna Anna in Don Giovanni staged by Katia Ricciarelli at the Teatro Stabile di Potenza and soon after as Gilda in Rigoletto in the summer season. She also performed Adina in L’elisir d’amore in concert form, as well as singing Mozart’s Exultate Jubilate, Respighi’s Lauda per la Natività del Signore, Fauré’s Requiem and Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana in several squares in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Passion and Resurrection, Haydn’s symphony n. 49 with I Filarmonici Friulani Orchestra.

In 2020, he took part in the production of Cecilia Valdés at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, covering the title role.

In 2021, he was part of the first edition of Bottega Donizetti at Donizetti Festival in Bergamo, thanks to which she had the chance to work with such artists as Alex Esposito, Francesco Micheli and Damiano Michieletto, and she took part in the Festival’s opening production: C’erano una volta due Bergamaschi.
