Filipino/American tenor Arthur Espiritu has been steadily establishing himself an international career and has portrayed many leading tenor roles in North America, Europe and Asia.

His career developed from Mozart roles and belcanto repertoire of Donizetti, Bellini and Rossini to more demanding roles of Verdi and Puccini operas, which he is debuting in recent years. Among the roles he has already sung Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte (Teatro alla Scala Milan, Theater Basel), Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor (Daegu, Leipzig), Alfredo in La traviata (Basel, Hannover), Rodolfo in La bohème (Sydney Opera House, New Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, Cologne, Warsaw, Sofia), Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni (Theatre Royal du Versailles, Connecticut Opera), il Duca di Mantova in Rigoletto (Oper I’m Steinbruch St. Margarethen), Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi (Oper Frankfurt), Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola (Pittsburgh Opera, Opera North USA, Munich), Gualtiero in Il Pirata and the title role in Gounod’s Faust (Theater St. Gallen), Roberto of Leicester in Maria Stuarda and Elvino in La Sonnambula (Prinzregententheater Munich), Fernando in La favorita (Theater St. Gallen Summer Festival), Ernesto in Don Pasquale (Oper Leipzig), Egeo in Mayr’s Medea in Corinto (Theater St. Gallen), Tamino in Die Zauberflöte (New Israeli Opera Tel-Aviv), Tebaldo in I Capuleti e I Montecchi (Pittsburgh Opera), Foresto in Attila (Washington Concert Opera), Riccardo in Un ballo in Maschera (Theater Bonn). He has also sung as a soloist in opera galas with major orchestras such as the Munich Symphony Orchestra and in prestigious venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

Arthur Espiritu obtained an Artist Diploma in Music Performance with an from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Richard Miller. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts and Masters in Music Performance from the University of New Orleans under Raquel Cortina, who is still is current teacher in New Orleans, along with Robert C. White Jr. in New York and soprano Nelly Miriciouiu in London.

He won in 2009 the George London Award and in 2007 the La Scala award at the Belvedere Competition.
