Italian mezzo Arianna Manganello, born in Montefiascone in 1996, since 2020/21 season is a member of Deutsche Oper Berlin ensemble, where she has already performed in the productions of Anna Bolena (Smeton), Nabucco (Fenena), Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rosina), Falstaff (Meg Page), Don Giovanni (Zerlina), Leoš Janáček’s The cunning little vixen (the Fox), Cavalleria rusticana (Lola), Die Zauberflöte (second lady), Das Rheingold (Wellgunde), Aida (priestess), Carmen (Mercedes) and many others.

Arianna Manganello has begun her studies in singing at the age of 9 anni with Lucrezia Raffaelli e and in 2020 she obtained with honors a master degree in opera singing from Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali “Vecchi Tonelli” in Modena, under the guidance of Maria Costanza Nocentini. She has also furthered her studies participating in many masterclasses, with Chris Merritt, Nicola Paszkowsky, Monica Bacelli, Giacomo Prestia, Renata Lamanda, and most of all with Raina Kabaivanska, with whom she has specialised in Modena and in several advanced courses of Accademia Chigiana in Siena.

In 2019 she has been admitted to Accademia di Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti” in Martina Franca, where she had the chance to sing in three productions of Festival della Valle d’Itria: Jacques Offenbach’s Robinson Crusoe (performing the role of Venerdì), Nicola Porpora’s Orfeo, Nicola Antonio Manfroce’s Ecuba.

Arianna Manganello ha salso been awarded in several international singing competitions, among other Tenor Viñas Competition in Barcelona (semifinal in 2024)Competition Portofino (prize “Under 25” in 2022), Competition “Ottavio Ziino” in Roma (a finalist in 2019), Competition “Opera Pienza” (winner of two awards in 2019), Competition “Spiros Argiris” in Sarzana (winner of a scholarship in 2013).

Her opera debut on stage was in 2018, when she was Contessa di Ceprano in the production of Rigoletto staged by Teatro Regio di Parma to celebrate the fifty years of career of Leo Nucci.

In 2018 she sang also in Menotti’s Medium at Teatro Comunale “Luciano Pavarotti” in Modena. In 2019 she performed in Japan, as Suzuki in Madama Butterfly at Japan Opera Festival in Nagoya.

Her recent performances, apart from the ones at Deutsche Oper Berlin, include Elektra at Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Die Zauberflöte at Oper Frankfurt, the title role of Maria di Buenos Aires by Astor Piazzolla at Teatro Goldoni in Livorno and at Piccolo Opera Festival (Italy), Negar by Ève ​​Signeyrole in Montpellier.

Her forthcoming projects in Berlin include Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rosina), Antikrist, I vespri siciliani, Andrea Chénier (Bersi), Die Zauberflöte, Carmen, La traviata, The queen of spades, Fedora, Hänsel und Gretel (Hänsel) and Le nozze di Figaro (Cherubino).
